Founded in 1952 by Rene Ramillon, this French label specialised in manufacturing down jackets and sportswear, catering mainly for professional skiers and mountaineers. The brand broke into the fashion scene during the 1980's when Moncler designer, Chantal Thomass encouraged quilted jackets to be worn "off piste" in the City. In 2003, the brand was bought by Italian entrepreneur Remo Ruffini who is the current Creative Director. He introduced the strategy of the global quilted jacket, working on fit and materials to accomodate a jacket for day to day life.
