2004 the founders of Common Projects, Peter Poopat and Flavio Girotami first met. They were both sneaker enthusiasts and didn't find any estethically refined and high quality sneakers on the market. They wanted to fill the gap between Gucci and Nike on the market, where premium sneakers was underdeveloped. They created a high quality sneaker that was clean, visual and almost blank. Their branding was a signature numbering in gold on the outer heel of each shoe that explained style number, european shoe size and colour. After their sucess, other luxury brands like Balenciaga, Givenchy and Saint Laurent began to produce premium sneakers. 2009 Common Projects started to produce sneakers for women that were classic, timeless and clean.
